  35.     Abstract:
  36.       This coverage includes points that describe selected cities 
  37.       of the Australia and New Zealand area
  38.       (Australia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Tonga and Vanuatu;
  39.       and portions of New Guinea and Solomon Islands).
  40.     Purpose:
  41.       To depict capitals and selected major cities as locational
  42.       reference to Open File Report 97-470F Maps Showing Geology,
  43.       Geologic Provinces, and Oil and Gas Fields of the Asia
  44.       Pacific Region; Plate 3: Australia and New Zealand, which is
  45.       being compiled as a reference for the U.S. Geological Survey's
  46.       World Energy Project assessment of undiscovered, technically
  47.       recoverable oil and gas resources of the world. This coverage
  48.       is used to produce a map and an Adobe Acrobat Portable Document
  49.       of the map to be published on CD-ROM. An Arcview shapefile
  50.       derived from this coverage is used in an Arcview project and
  51.       an ArcExplorer project.
